Warranty Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

This page explains the guarantee that applies to clothing bought from ALVI, what it covers, what it does not cover, and how to make a claim.

The guarantee that applies to your purchase

ALVI sells women's clothing. We do not offer a separate commercial or extended warranty on top of the law, and we will never ask you to buy one. Instead, every item you buy from us is covered by your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which in practice give stronger and longer protection than a typical manufacturer's warranty.

Under that Act, the goods we supply must be:

  • of satisfactory quality — free from defects, properly finished, safe and durable, taking account of the price and description;
  • fit for purpose — suitable for the purpose clothing of that kind is normally used for, and for any specific purpose you told us about before buying;
  • as described — matching the description, photographs, colour, fabric, size and other details shown on the product page.

What you are entitled to, and when

  • Within 30 days of delivery: if an item is faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect or not as described, you have the short-term right to reject it and receive a full refund.
  • Between 30 days and 6 months: you can ask for a free repair or replacement. If a repair or replacement is impossible, or does not fix the problem, you can claim a refund or a price reduction. During this period a fault is assumed to have been present at delivery unless we can show otherwise.
  • After 6 months: you can still claim for up to six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, or five years from discovery in Scotland, where the item has not lasted as long as it reasonably should have. After six months you may need to show that the fault was present when the item was delivered.

These rights do not depend on you keeping tags, original packaging or a paper receipt, and they do not depend on our prior agreement. Your order confirmation email is proof of purchase.

Examples of what is covered

  • Seams that come apart in normal wear
  • Zips, buttons or fastenings that fail in normal use
  • Fabric that tears, pills severely or loses colour abnormally when cared for as the label instructs
  • Items delivered damaged, stained or incomplete
  • An item that does not match its description, colour, fabric or measurements on our website
  • The wrong item or the wrong size being sent

What is not covered

  • Normal wear and tear from regular use over time
  • Damage caused by an accident, misuse, or alterations made after delivery
  • Damage caused by washing, drying, ironing or dry-cleaning contrary to the care label
  • Deliberate damage or damage from unreasonable handling
  • A change of mind about fit, style or colour — this is covered instead by our 30-day returns offer in the Return and Refund Policy
  • Slight variation in colour between your screen and the item, or minor variation that is natural to the fabric

If an item does not fit or suit you but is not faulty, you are not left without options: our 30-day returns offer covers change-of-mind returns.

How to make a claim

  1. Email info@alvifashion.shop with the subject line “Faulty item”, or call +44 7477 491249.
  2. Include your order number, the item affected, a description of the fault and when you first noticed it.
  3. Attach clear photographs of the fault where you can. This usually lets us resolve the claim without you sending the item back.
  4. We will respond and tell you whether we need the item returned. If we do, we pay the reasonable cost of return postage for faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed items.

We aim to acknowledge every claim within 2 working days and to resolve it as quickly as possible. Where a refund is due, we process it within 14 days of receiving the item back or evidence that it was sent.

Cost to you

Making a claim under this policy is free. We do not charge an inspection fee, an administration fee or a restocking fee, and we do not require you to pay return postage on a faulty item.

If you are not satisfied

If you are unhappy with how we have handled a claim, please reply to our email so we can review it. You can also get free, independent advice from Citizens Advice, and you keep the right to take the matter further under consumer law.
